Award Creation

Most  awards and trophies manufactured by Design Awards are hand-made using materials such as metal, timber, resin and acrylic. These are moulded, cut, linished and  burnished to produce timeless awards that sit pride of place  in the homes and offices of some Australia’s most accomplished individuals.

Creating a memorable three- dimensional award from a two-dimensional concept requires imagination and skill.  The following video showcase the Design Awards team at work manufacturing one of Australia’s most high profile awards. The Sydney Swans has also made a piece documenting the making of their new custom medallion, the Goodes-O’Loughlin Medal. See the video here.

The Scobie Breasley Medal

The Scobie Breasley Medal is an annual Jockeys award, first presented by Racing Victoria Limited in 1996. The medal recognises excellence in race riding on Melbourne racetracks. Votes are cast by racing stewards at each meeting and are awarded on a 3-2-1 basis to what they deem to be the best ride of the day.
