Although we produce beautifully designed and aesthetically pleasing gold football trophies, we also specialise in lots of other types of awards and trophies. At present, we operate primarily out of our two workshops. We have a thriving workshop based in the cosmopolitan city of Sydney and another successful workshop based in the picturesque city of Melbourne. It’s within these workshops where most of the ‘magic happens’, as this is where we produce most of our range of products.
Our company started crafting bespoke and beautiful awards over twenty years ago. It was originally founded by the prolific sculptor and designer, Bruce Dodds. Although our company started as a small retail outlet in Surry Hills, it quickly grew to become one of the most sought after and well-respected crafters within the industry.
We are proud of and respect our artisan heritage and we are also immensely proud that all of our products, from our awards to our trophies to our medals, are designed and created within Australia. We truly believe that the best should come from the best!

A Little About Us
We are a small team of designers and artisan makers that specialise in the creation of beautiful trophies and awards. We have two workshops, one based in Sydney and one in Melbourne, where we design and hand craft high-end awards, trophies, plaques, medallions and more.
How it all started
It all started with the state of awards in Australia. The problem was clear: meaningful award ceremonies, meaningless trophies. Think brittle plastic trophies shaped like an Oscar, think crystal mugs etched with Comic Sans. Awards were an afterthought undeserving of their recipients.
The answer, as founder and sculptor Bruce Dodds saw it back in 1994, was considered design hand-crafted in Australia. Thankfully, the idea caught on.
As a result, Design Awards has been changing the face of the Australian awards industry for over 20 years. Our design-first approach means every single award is unique, and the care and consideration taken in each award imbues a meaningfulness which cannot be achieved in mass produced items.
As we see it, design is what sets us apart and our craftsmanship is our pride.
